Yeah SSC was one of the best group in the country. Too bad they didn't exist anymore.
For good french rap check MC Solaar's LP "Qui sème le vent récolte le tempo" and NTM "Paris sous les bombes".
Too bad it don't exist a lot of good rappers in France, they mostly all focuses on the thug ego trip and forget to make music...

there's at least a few hundred French rap albums and the best ones are not on this site unfortunately. HEy, cant have everything in one place, there's only so much one can upload (and listen to, shit...). But i would like to say, being French that France has its golden age of hip hop too, that would be up to 98-99. If you want really good french hip hop, check Sages Poetes de la Rue, the Timebomb compilation, the Hostile compilation, oh shit cant forget LA CLIQUA, Xmen, and yeah so many others...French rap scene is dope, nowadays a bit wacker than before, but always was hardcore and true to hip hop. Sorry but MC Solaar is a wackass !!!!! and NTM were alright (its true Paris Sous les Bombes is their best classic), IAM too was dope (check their first album in 91 for all the wicked jazz samples), also the first Soul Swing and Radical from 96 which is one of my favorites,,,
